Today's announcement is a further boost of confidence in Waterford's growing Tech cluster which continues to grow and expand. These are high quality and high paying jobs which will benefit the local economy significantly.
"I understand a significant number of the 800 roles announced by IBM today will be located at the company's subsidiary Red Hat which is located on the Cork Road in Waterford City. The Red Hat story is a truly remarkable one, its location in Waterford stems from the acquisition of Waterford startup FeedHenry and coincides with the company's ten year anniversary celebrations which take place tomorrow,
"IDA jobs growth continues at a pace in Waterford. We have now seen the live register in Waterford drop by over 60% since 2011 and that is due in no small part to the 73% increase in IDA supported employment which has gone from 5248 to 9,078 last year.
