€27,000 for Waterford Tidy Towns Groups

Fine Gael Senator and General Election candidate John Cummins has welcomed the allocation of €26,000 in funding to Tidy Towns Groups across Waterford by his Fine Gael colleague Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys.


Senator Cummins said: “It’s very welcome news that €27,000 has been allocated to Waterford Tidy Towns groups today, in total twenty community Tidy Town groups will receive an allocation which I know will be welcomed across the board and assist them with their amazing work which is so evident when I travel right across the county.

 

The 20 Tidy Town groups announced today who are receiving funding in Waterford are:

Senator Cummins continued: “We all know the fantastic work Tidy Towns groups put in throughout the year, they have the will and desire to make sure their communities look their best. In rain or sunshine they roll up their sleeves and get stick in and I’m delighted that we are able to support them in their efforts”.

 

“I am firmly committed to ensuring that every community in Waterford is enabled to thrive and flourish and small funding streams like these go a very long way. The people involved in local groups like these have demonstrated their commitment to making our communities the best possible place to live, work and raise a family in. I know they are always looking for additional volunteers to help out so if you have a few hours to spare, I know each group would be grateful for an extra pair of hands” concluded Senator Cummins
